Roanoke Named a Top Digital City Again

Roanoke was recently recognized by the Center for Digital Government for a 15th straight year.  The City earned a first place award in the 2016 Digital Cities Survey for locations with a population of 75,000-124,999.

Roanoke has ranked in the survey's top 10 every year and has placed first seven times. Roanoke was recognized for recently upgrading its fiber backbone and expanding it to libraries, particularly those in underserved, socio-economically challenged neighborhoods, to help connect citizens with technology and lessen the digital divide.

Roanoke joins Los Angeles, Virginia Beach, Durham and Tamarac, FL at the top of each category this year.
