USA Today just announced the results of its "10 Best Southern Small Towns" contest.

Congratulations to Floyd, the #9 best Southern small town, noted as a popular stop along the Blue Rdige Parkway and as an artists' enclave with many galleries, studios and events.

Congrats also to Abingdon, the #2 best Southern small town, noted for its historic downtown, the Barter Theatre and the Virginia Creeper Trail.
