About RVAR
The mission of the Roanoke Valley Association of REALTORS (RVAR) is to lead, inform and serve its members, promote the REALTOR image, and preserve property rights.  RVAR’s Association office is maintained by a staff of seven people who serves its membership.  RVAR officers are made up of brokers and agents elected by the membership.  Officers include the President, President Elect, Vice-President, Past President, and eight additional Directors.

When real estate licensees become members of RVAR, they are automatically made members of the Virginia Association of REALTORS (VAR) and the National Association of REALTORS (NAR).

RVAR’s membership is not only made up of brokers and agents, but many Affiliate members, such as mortgage companies, home inspectors, and others allied to the industry.

The Roanoke Valley Association of REALTORS was founded in 1921 and is chartered as a non-stock corporation in the Commonwealth of Virginia and classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(6) trade association.  RVAR also owns the Roanoke Valley Multiple Listing Service.

Its territorial jurisdiction, as assigned by the National Association of REALTORS, includes the Cities of Roanoke and Salem; Town of Vinton; Counties of Roanoke, Botetourt, Craig and portions of Bedford and Franklin.
