RVAR Endorses House of Delegates Candidates |
| | RVAR’s Board of Directors has endorsed four area candidates for the House of Delegates. Each endorsed candidate will receive a $2,500 RPAC contribution. Personal interviews were conducted with these candidates. Questions focused on economic development in the Roanoke Valley, transportation funding, the recent SCC ruling impacting real estate signs and basing the grantor’s tax on sales price instead of assessed value. Special thanks to RVAR’s Governmental Affairs Committee for its efforts to conduct these interviews. |

RVAR Endorses Roanoke County Supervisors |
 | | RVAR’s Board of Directors has endorsed three candidates for election to the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors. Interviews were conducted with these candidates. Questions focused on funding for schools and other capital improvements, concerns over increasing water and sewer fees for new construction and regional cooperation. Flora and Patterson will each receive a $1,000 RPAC contribution; Goodman will receive a $500 RPAC contribution. |

Congratulations to John Dickinson (Hall Associates) and Kit Hale (MKB) who were elected to NAR’s Board of Directors at the recent VAR Convention. Mary Dykstra (REMAX Valley) was elected to serve a second term on VAR’s Board of Directors. John was also installed to serve as VAR’s President-elect in 2010. RVAR salutes their achievements! |
