 | The Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) will begin implementing a new computer system for the Virginia Real Estate Board on February 20, 2013. As part of the conversion, the Board has developed all new forms. The new forms are available here.
You should begin using the new forms immediately. Older versions of the forms will NOT be accepted after February 20, 2013. After that date, the Board will return any old forms submitted. So make sure the form you are using has a date of 1/17/2013 or later (look in the lower left-hand corner for the revision date.)
DPOR expects the new computer system to be up and ready for use by February 27, 2013. | |

Software Fix Available for Java Exploit |
On January 12th the national news media reported that Java, software found on many personal and networked computers throughout the world, contained a dangerous security vulnerability (sometimes referred to as an exploit), and suggested that Java be uninstalled to prevent widespread hacking. Fortunately, Oracle, the maker of Java, issued an emergency software update the following day (Java 7 update 11) that, once downloaded and installed, removes the exploit.
Which computers are vulnerable? The exploit is limited to Java 7 update 10 and earlier. Java 6 does not contain the exploit. However, both version 6 and version 7 users may choose to install Java 7 Update 11.
